Off-page factor

Off-page factors in sum are all factors that cannot directly be influenced by the webmaster of a site. They are called "factors" in order to reach a certain position at search engines on search queries. Typical off-page factors are:

  • number of inbound links
  • topical relevancy of linking or citing documents
  • anchor text on the linking web site
  • topic and text surrounding the link on the linking web site
  • age of the link itself
